HALLOWEEN Train Ride

We went to Durango, CO and rode the train. It was a special "Great Pumpkin Patch Adventure" event for Halloween. The kids get to wear their costumes. Zayne was Mickey Mouse of course. We all know how much he loves Mickey. If only I could keep his costume on him. The trian only goes about 5 miles up the track, but they drive really slow so it takes about 15 minutes. Then you get off and they have little activities for the kids, like hayrides, hay bale maize, bounce house, coloring, temporary tatoos, and Zayne's almost favorite part BALLOONS! He was so excited to see that they were handing out balloons. The train ride was his favorite part, he almost cried when the train started to leave after it dropped us off. He wanted to get back on. We got to ride it back to the station so he was happy. He also got to pick out a pumpkin when he made it through the maze. We had so much fun, we might make that a Halloween tradition. My Mom and Dad bought us the tickets for spending 3 days last weekend taking my little sisters engagement photos and making her wedding invitations. Zayne says "Thanks Granny and Papa!". We really do appreciate it. We had so much fun. Thanks! :)

Doctor Jason Doolin!

Yep, that's right. He is officially a Doctor! Jason graduated from Chiropractic school in August. I couldn't be more proud of him. It was a long 6 1/2 years. He went year round so it could have been longer. Thank goodness it wasn't. Congratulations Babe! You did it! Zayne and I are so proud of you! :)

Our Big Helper!

Zayne is the biggest helper. He doesn't realize that mowing the lawn, dusting and vacuuming are chores. He played with Grandma's big vacuume for 2 days before she went out and bought him his own little toy vacuume so he would stop using hers. It is quite cute and I am glad he so willing to help.

Six Flags

Our baby is officially 2! We had a Mickey Mouse pool party. Zayne is obsessed with Mickey Mouse so he had to have a Mickey birthday. I made a Mickey cake and bought the kids little Mickey ears. We all had fun swimming and eating pizza and cake. Thanks for all the cool presents!

This was Zayne's second Easter. We went to Jason's school luncheon. They always have an Easter egg hunt. Zayne liked finding the eggs until he realized there was candy in them. Then he just wanted to eat the candy.

Happy Valentines Day!

Jason and I got to go out to dinner and a movie on Valentines day. Thanks to my best bud Connie for watching Zayne all night. It was really nice to go out on a date. We don't get to do that very often. I made these awsome Valentine cookie bouquets for my two favorite guys. I wouldn't trade them for anything. They both make me smile on a daily basis and I just wanted to show them how much I love them. It took me like 10 hours to make these and only 2 minutes for them to destroy them. Oh well, that's what happens when your gifts are edible. They sure were yummy. :o)

Cruise!

Finally I got around to updating my blog. Our Cruise was awesome. We loved it. That is definately the way I like to vacation. I can't wait to go on another one. I love being able to eat whenever you get hungry. There is food ready whenever you want it. Our ship was really awesome too. It had a kids pool area, miniature golf, rock climbing wall, roller skating track, ice skating rink, shopping and probably a ton of other stuff that I can't recall. There was a ton of stuff to do. Its like a little city on water. We loved it and will totally do it again. :o)

The Captians Dinner... I think thats what its called. The ship has formal dinners that you can attend. We got all dressed up and went to the dining room for dinner. What a nightmare Zayne was. He wouldn't sit in his high chair and he wanted to bang the silverware on the plates and make a bunch of noise. Needless to say we didn't eat in the dining room very much because the buffet was so much easier with Zayne. It was fun getting dressed up though. We don't have very many oportunities to do that in our everyday life, so it was fun.

Our first stop was in Cozumel. We just spent the whole day at the beach. It was really relaxing. Zayne played in the sand and water till he got tuckered out and had to take a nap. The guys rented some snorkeling gear and went snorkeling. I chilled on the beach with Zayne all day. We ate lunch at a little restaurant right on the beach, bought some souvenirs at the port and called it a day. Very relaxing!

Grand Cayman

Our second stop was Grand Cayman. This was probably my favorite. Grand Cayman doesn't have a port like the other places. You have to get off the ship and ride a little boat to shore. Jason's parents rented a car so we could do some site seeing and Jason, Jeremy, Corey and Natalie rented scooters. They had a lot of fun on those scooters. We went to Hell...yes that's what its called. It was just this little souvenir shop, but it's fun to say we went to Hell. Then we went to the Turtle farm. Zayne had fun looking at the turtles. He didn't want to touch them though. Then we went to lunch at Coconut Joe's. By the time we finished there, it was time to get back on the ship.

Jamaica

Our last stop was in Jamaica. Jason's younger brother served a mission in Jamaica, so he had a friend come and pick us up. He took us to Negril. We went to the beach while Adam went to visit some people that live there. Zayne loves the beach. He loves playing in the sand. We didn't get to do much but we got to see alot. Jamaica wasn't my favorite place because the people are very pushy and always asking for money. But all in all it was a good experience to see where Adam lived for 2 years.

This is us girls chillin on the beach. This is right before the psycho came and started rubbing aloe vera all over me telling me it was better than sunscreen. Then he wanted me to pay him $5 for it. My sister-in-law almost punched him (Thanks again Natalie) before some other Jamaicans came and made him leave.

Zayne played so hard he fell asleep at lunch.

Christmas 2008

Ok, this is really embarassing that it is February and I am barely posting Christmas pictures. What can I say, life is busy. We let Zayne open his presents from us on Christmas Eve before we went to AZ to spend Christmas with my family. We gave him this awesome Thomas train set. It is definately the best toy we have ever given him. He plays with it everyday. Jason likes to play with it also. Men really never do grow up. :) We had so much fun in AZ. We got to see almost all of my family, except my sister Chris and her girls because they weren't able to make it. :( Zayne got to ride Papa's 4-wheelers, which he loved! He kept asking for more. Now his favorite toy is a little matchbox 4-wheeler we got him.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year! We will be in AZ for Christmas this year. We will be there from the 24th through New Years day. Then we are going on a 7 day Western Carribean cruise with Jason's family. We are so excited for both. Can't wait to see everyone. :)

I couldn't have asked for a better picture of Zayne with Santa. I love these! This was his first time to sit on Santa's lap and it will probably be the last for a while. He is definately scarred from this. Our apartment complex had a Christmas party with, food, live music and Santa. It was alot of fun.

We took Zayne out to one of our many lakes we have here. Jason wanted to go fishing with a buddy of his, so Zayne and I tagged along for a little while. Jason actually caught a fish and he is really proud of it. Zayne didn't really like standing very close to it. It kinda freaked him out.

Just trying to catch up on some posts. It's been awhile. Halloween was lots of fun. We had a little Halloween party with our friends. We went trick-or-treating, ate pizza and played rockband. Well, the guys played rockband while the women watched the kids. That's the way it usually goes. We didn't make it to very many houses. The kids were so tired of walking and we really didn't want all that candy anyway. We are really going to miss our little parties with our friends when we leave TX.

Isn't this the cutest turtle you have ever seen? Our apartment complex had a Halloween party this weekend. Zayne won the costume contest, of course. Look how stinking cute he is. He had fun, even though it doesn't look like it in one of these pictures. We have a trunk-or-treat this weekend with our ward, and our apartment complex is having a trunk-or-treat on the 31st. So he gets to wear his costume 2 more times. I will definately get my money's worth. Which isn't very much because I bought it last year after Halloween. I love getting things for cheap.

Zayne loves being outside. I feel sorry for him when we go back to TX to our apartment and he can't just go play outside when he wants. And it is so hot and humid, we will have to wait till it cools down a little before we can spend very much time outdoors. This is a video of him playing in some sand my Mom and Dad got from the beach in Mexico. He has had so much fun playing in the sand. My Mom won't have any left by the time we leave, but that's ok, she will get more. This video is kinda long, but I did that for Jason. He's really missing Zayne and wanted to see some video's of him.

Trip to Arizona

Zayne and I are in Arizona. We have been here for 2 weeks and will be here for one more. My little sister came home from a mission in Bulgaria. It has been nice spending a little time with her before she goes up to school at BYU. Poor Jason, he is really missing Zayne. I am posting some pics of our trip for him to see and for all of you to see as well. We went to the lake and had lots of fun. The kids love to go tubing. We also went to the Safford Airport and got to take pictures with the planes. Zayne's favorite part was playing with the orange cones. It's a small airport and the planes aren't very big but I thought it was fun. Oh, I took a few pics of the sunsets. Arizona has the best sunsets. You don't see sunsets like that in TX. It's been nice spending time with my family, we just wish Jason could be here with us. We miss him!

Spinach Smoothie Recipe

I know, sounds gross huh. But its not, if you make it right. I got this recipe at Enrichment night. Zayne and I share one every morning. It has a ton of spinach and is so good for you. Especially for all of us who don't get enough green veggies everyday. You can probably get your kids to eat it also, just call it Green Candy, but don't tell them what is in it.

3 Cups vanilla soymilk
Spinach to fill 3/4 blender
3-4 frozen bananas (broken up in chunks)
Cinnamon and nutmeg to taste

I make it in my Bullet blender, so I make about 1/3 of the recipe. What it means by fill blender 3/4 full is, pack the spinach down into the milk until the milk and spinach fill the blender 3/4 full (Yeah, it's several hand fulls). Make sure your bananas are ripe, like when the peel starts to get brown spots. If they aren't really ripe, they aren't sweet enough to cover up the spinach flavor (I made that mistake). Also, don't leave out the cinnamon or nutmeg. If you don't have those spices, go and get them. I left out the nutmeg because I didn't have any, and it tasted very green and spinachy. Enjoy!

Zayne's Bday Party

Zayne's Birthday party was a lot of fun. We had a BBQ at the pool and swam. We had a bunch of our friends come. Jason's Mom and Dad were also in town. Although we don't have any pictures of them at the party... Well not any Margo would let me post. :) They helped me make Zayne's Turtle cake. It took 3 of us about 3 hours. Thank goodness I didn't try to do that on my own. Now I know you have to color the fondant ahead of time, like the day before. It turned out really cute though. Zayne missed his afternoon nap because of the party. So when it was time to eat his cake he wasn't in a very good mood. I shoved his hand in it to get him started and he started to cry because he doesn't like to get his hands dirty. He was flinging frosting everywhere. I should have given him a fork to begin with. He would have had more fun. His friends came over and helped him eat his cake though. It was cute. He got tons of cool presents. THANKS EVERYONE! He loves them all. All in all it was a pretty Awesome Day! Except the poor little girl that was swimming in the pool and swam right into Zayne's little Torpedo Penguin and got it's propeller twisted in her hair. Our Baby isn't a Baby anymore

Yep, its true. Zayne will be 1 on Saturday, May 24th. He is at such a fun age. He has his own little personality. He talks non stop. None of them are words we can understand except "DA DA". He says "MA MA" but only when he is tired. He also tries to "Meow" like the cats. He is always happy and smiles all the time. Our little baby isn't a baby anymore. :( We can't imagine our life without him though. We can't even remember what it was like before we had him. It must not have been very exciting. Ha Ha! :) This is the invitation I made for his party.

Our Little Monkey

We are raising a monkey! He climbs up on top of everything. I walked into my bedroom to see what he was up to, because he was very quiet, and found him up on top of the cat tree. I don't know how he got up there. Then while I was typing this post I turned around and found him on top of the coffee table. He just learned to walk a month ago and now he is climbing! He is so proud of himself when I find him on top of something. He grins from ear to ear.

Mommy's Little Helper

Zayne has a thing for cleaning lately. He finds the broom, the fan duster, the swiffer or whatever and starts sweeping the floor. He walks all through the house sweeping. He thinks its fun now, wait till he has chores. He will change his mind. Here is a little video of him using the fan duster to sweep my bedroom floor and a picture we took with him using the swiffer. Jason put a handkerchief on his head to be funny.

Yep, it's true. He can walk. It's exciting and sad at the same time. Here is a video clip of him walking. It didn't look that dark on the camera but you can still see him. He gets better and better at it everyday. He still doesn't know how to stand up once he falls. He has to crawl over to something and pull himself back up. then off he goes again.

Think Chiropractic

My buddy just made a new blog that has basic and sometimes controversial topics that hit those of use that are chiropractors and those that just want to know basic topic on certain issues. It's just been formed so it doesn't have much, but I asked him to add a really good video. The video is about the CDC and how they try and beat around the bush about linking vaccines and autism. For those of you who don't know I'm pretty passionate about vaccines and how they need to be changed. So take a few minutes to view it and leave your comments so we can get some feed back.

Zayne went on his first Easter egg hunt. Jason's school had an Easter luncheon for all the students and their families and then an Easter egg hunt. Ok, so we only found 2 eggs, one for each hand, but he was happy. We gave him a cookie at lunch and he loved it. When Jason tried to take it away he cried. See his sad little face. Mean Daddy!

Crazy Life

Sorry. It's been a while since we posted any pics of Zayne. Probably because I haven't taken many pics of him since Christmas. Life is a little crazy right now. We don't have much time to spend on the computer. I am taking two college classes, working part time and a Mom full time. Jason is never home (not even on weekends) because he is studying for classes and national boards. Here are a few of the cute things I caught Zayne doing. He loves to play the drums that go to the rock band game. He climbed under one of our stools the other day and got stuck. he couldn't figure out how to get out. It was pretty funny. I had to rescue him. He also loves to help me unload the dishwasher. I usually have to rewash quite a few utensils that he chews on while he is unloading it. He is crawling all over and pulling up on everything. He walks all the way around the living room holding onto the couches and coffee table. It won't be long before he figures out how to walk. Then I am doomed. But we are still excited for him to learn how.

New Years in New Mexico

We got to spend a couple weeks with Jason's Family in NM. We gotSnow! Zayne got to see snow for the first time. He didn't like it very much. Well it may have been the shoes he didn't like. He hates to wear shoes. We had fun hangin' out with Jason's family. Grandma spoiled Zayne rotten (of course). We also got to hang out with Jason's friends. We played the best game ever. It is called "Rock Band" on Xbox 360. You get to play guitars, drums, and even sing to the music. We had so much fun. Jason's poor Mom and Dad, they had a rock band in their living room all night. They didn't get much sleep, but we had a great time.

Zayne's First Christmas

It was Zayne's first christmas. Zayne loved playing with the wrapping paper. He was wrapping himself up as a present. I had this cute Santa outfit that a lady I work with gave me. He wore that Christmas morning. Isn't he so cute? We spent Christmas with my family (Tori's). It was good to get to see them. We also went to the dunes in California (near Yuma, AZ) and rode quads. It was lots of fun. We are still cleaning sand out of our ears and nose. :)

Have you ever seen such a cute kid? I decided to pretend like I was a photographer and take some pictures of Zayne the other day (We miss you Amy. I have resorted to doing them myself. They are nowhere near as good as yours.) At least he looks cute, even though I didn't know what I was doing. This is Zayne's first Christmas so I thought I better take a few pictures of him. He is 6 months old now. He is growing up so fast :( I love watching him grow and discover new things. He learned how to army crawl this week. It won't be long before he is really crawling. I am in the process of baby proofing my house before my little monster tears it apart....

You are forced to like football when you live in Texas. We never paid much attention to football when we lived in AZ (of course our home team , The AZ Cardinals, never won so that is probably one reason why). But Texans are very serious about football whether it is high school, college or professional. It's all serious. We have a ritual of getting together with our friends to watch all the Cowboys games. We love our little ritual, and it seems to be working because the Cowboy's are winning! Now I just need to get me a jersey so I can fit in.

We didn't take Zayne trick-or-treating because Jason and I didn't want to have to eat the candy. We just hung out with friends and had Pizza and goodies. We had lots of fun. Zayne didn't enjoy being stuffed into the dog costume, so we hurried up and took a few pictures before he screamed. Jason and I were the only adults that dressed up so we look kinda silly. (Jason is a beach bum, and that beard is painted on even though he looks like that most of the time anyway. Hopefully he learns to shave before he becomes a doctor :)
